CASA Inspections for General Aviation Aircraft & ComponentS

AIIS provides specialized inspection criteria for the inspection of aircraft undergoing the following inspections:
  • Periodical Inspections
  • SIDS Inspections
  • Component Inspections
  • Service Bulletins
  • Airworthiness Directives
  • And Repair to Damage
AIIS employs all of the following methods to inspect aircraft and components to CASA and Manufacturers requirements:
  • Radiography -This inspection technique detects subsurface defects such as cracking and corrosion in both Ferrous and Non Ferrous material as well as composite fibres. Xrays are used to supply an image on film revealing the internal structure of components and major structures such as wings whilst still in service.
  • Eddy Current - This Electro-Magnetic Inspection technique detects surface and sub-surface defects in Ferrous and Non Ferrous material through up to 2mm of paint. In the aviation industry it is used primarily to scan the bolt hole and surfaces around rivets.
  • Ultrasonics - This Inspection technique detects sub-surface detects in Ferrous and Non-Ferrous materials using a sound wave to reflect of cracks, gas pores and other anomalies. In the aviation industry it is used primarily to check castings and machined components such as Oleo legs and propeller hubs for cracking.
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection - This inspection technique detects surface defects in Ferrous material only. The surface must be free of paint, grease and oil. In the aviation industry it can be used to scan components, for cracking but will only detect surface breaking indications
  • Dye Penetrant Inspection - This inspection technique detects surface defects in Non - Ferrous material only. The surface must be free of paint, grease and oil. In the aviation industry it can be used to scan components, for cracking but will only detect surface breaking indications.
AIIS is fully CASA accredited and is offering our services to facilitate your company's requirements for NDT with our capabilities of experience we can provide an efficient and effective quality of service, pricing and report turn around.
